I'm trying to get some idea at how old is usually the target for financial independence and how much does it actually depend on your current age if you haven't started your investments yet. Currently I'm 38yo, out of work and my net worth is just under $1k. So I know the first step is simply to get employed for stable income- I don't have the mindset to run a business. I also don't know many people in high or low places- I like to keep to myself whatever chance I get. But regardless, is a 10 year plan from zero to FIRE feasible? Can people still FIRE under 50 if they started their financial plan just before 40?

All you can do, is to hide them into the "Application Library", but there's no delete option anymore. So if you don't want an application, never install it ever! Our new CEO and VC just decided to replace me, the CTO, with an outsider who is more accomplished and with more experience technically. He has open source projects that are prominent in the industry with 10k+ stars. Personally, I feel sad and betrayed but understand the reasoning why. They mention it's lower risk to bring the person on even though I'm doing a decent job at the moment. I have done nothing that would bring doubt to my skills besides not being experienced. My team mentioned it would affect their morale because they trust me and my leadership and mention that there could be a chance they leave because I won't be the CTO anymore. You buy a stock if you believe a stock is undervalued, you short it if you think it is overvalued. In either case, you believe in something and take a risk based on that. Short sellers help price discovery and often uncover frauds like Enron. Short sellers take more risk and lose money more often than buyers, and short selling itself is not immoral. Also- short selling is not just limited to hedge funds, any retail investors can do it too.
